When we began, we were just a couple of friends with an idea for recreating authentic, ocean-aged rum. We’ve come a long way since then, with a talented team, an expanded distilling facility, and broad range of spirits to share.
But even though our company has grown, we’ve always kept our attention on quality, crafting every spirit by hand. It’s our love of making and sharing fine spirits that inspires everything we do. We hope that comes through in every glass. Here’s a brief look into our history...
Cheers,
Walker Romanica and Nelson Dilbert
Early 2000s
We experiment, explore the ocean floor, and recreate ocean-aging of spirits.
It took a lot of trial and error, fighting through some setbacks, and believing in our idea.
But we get there. We discover a deceptively elegant way to age rum on the ocean floor. And the results are fantastic. So we set up the first-ever undersea rum maturation site.
Autumn 2007
Someone finds our hiding place. And we find our name.
An unknown diver pulls up one of our casks and brings it to a local bar – our first improvised test audience.
The feedback is great, but clearly we need to find a better hiding place. So we search the ocean again. And move our reserves to the perfect site – an exact seven fathoms deep.
